
Mike Nykoluk Death – Obituary, Mike Nykoluk Has Died
It is with deep sense of loss and devastation that we have learnt of the sudden and tragic passing away of Mike Nykoluk, on Monday, the 31st of January 2022. The sad news was being reported by a beloved member of the Toronto Maple Leafs as they paid their last respect by paying tribute via their Twitter handle.
The captain of the 55 Memorial Cup winning Marlies, Mike, later went on to feature in 32 games for the Maple Leafs. He later went on to serve as the Maple Leafs head coach for 4 seasons, beginning from 1981 until 1984. He will be greatly missed by the team as he was a great legend.
The Tribute from the Organization read thus ”We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mike Nykoluk. Mike captained the 55 Memorial Cup winning Marlies before going on to play 32 games for the Maple Leafs. He later served as the Maple Leafs head coach for 4 seasons, from 1981-84………………”
