Thomas Michael GrimDeath – Obituary: MSGT Thomas Michael Grim, born 05/19/1943 passed away peacefully in the hospital near his home in Fallbrook, Ca.on 2/01/22. He was surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Norfolk, Virginia, where he lived until he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his twenty years in the Marines, Tom served three tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of both the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his bravery.
Upon his discharge, Tom worked as a civilian at Camp Pendleton Military Base. He was a skilled carpenter and eventually built a career as a successful building contractor. Tom is survived by his wife Judith of 50 years, his daughters Dori Beckwith, Shannon Calloway and son Thomas M. Grim Jr., sons-in-law Scott Beckwith and Jason Calloway, grandchildren Courtney Beckwith, Ashlee Beckwith, Cy Calloway, Dru Calloway, and Peyton Calloway, sisters Phyllis Bell, Tammi Thornton and JoAnna Marie Black, brothers Harold Thornton and Harvey Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his mother Minnie Thornton and step-father Robert Thornton, father Joseph M. Grim, his son Terry Grim and his sister Julie Grim. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you kindly donate in his name to The Disabled American Veterans.
