Lisa Enfield Death – Obituary: Lisa Hurwitz Enfield, 66, died tragically in a bicycle accident in Boca Raton. Lisa was an attorney in South Florida who specialized in immigration law. For over 40 years, her abiding professional goal was to help families in their pursuit of coming to our country and building productive lives.
Lisa was born in Lake County, Illinois while her father was stationed at the Naval Station Great Lakes. She was raised in Jacksonville and later graduated from Wellesley College in 1977 and the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1981. After working for several years in private practice, she opened her law office in 1986 and never looked back.
Lisa had many passions and was known for her enthusiasm and dynamic spirit. In particular, she was passionate about Jewish life and culture in South Florida and Israel.
She served as the president of the Central Agency for Jewish Education of Broward County, and as the acting president of Congregation B’nai Aviv in Weston. She was also an active member at Temple Sinai of Hollywood. Finally, Lisa was a lover of languages and fluent in Spanish and Hebrew.
Lisa was preceded in death by her loving mother, Marian “Mickey” Hurwitz. She is survived by her father, Arthur Hurwitz; her husband, Steven; her children, Daniel (Louise), Nathan (Sarah) and Benjamin; her grandchildren, Nathaniel and Esme; her brother, Stephen Hurwitz (Pitzy and Patricia); and her brother-in-law Theodore (Carol, Andrew, and Marissa).
Funeral services will be at 3 PM on Monday, 2/14, at Temple Sinai of Hollywood (1400 N 46th Ave, Hollywood, FL 33021). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish Federation of Broward County. May Lisa’s memory be a blessing for those who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
