Lance Johnson, Death – Obituary: A 40-year-old man was killed when his vehicle crashed into the back of another car Monday night, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lance Johnson, 40, of Oneonta, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Westmoreland, deputies said.
Joshua Parker, 20, of Utica was driving west on Route 365 near Blackmans Corner Road around 11:30 p.m. when his car started to give him trouble, deputies said. He put his hazard lights on and reduced speed, trying to get to a gas station, they said.

Johnson, who was delivering medical samples to a lab, drove into Parker’s vehicle from behind, they said.
Parker was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, they said.
The westbound lane of Route 365 was shut down for several hours while deputies reconstructed the accident, they said.
There is no evidence of foul play or intoxication, deputies said. The accident is under investigation and an autopsy will be performed, they said.
