Gerald Williams Death – Obituary: The New Orleans native, former Yankee outfielder Gerald Williams died at 55. Williams was nicknamed the “Ice” because of his defensive outfielder skills and speed. Jeter’s rookie sensation impressed everyone and jumped to the high peaks of his career.
The Yankee outfielder, Gerald Williams who played for more than 14 years in the big leagues played half of his career at Bombers and the rest of it with Brewers, Braves, Rays, and Mets.

The offensive stretch of his career started from 1998 to 2000, where he hit .280 and took an average of 162-game per post with 16 homers and 67 RBI. Williams conquered a hit career-high of 21 home runs for Tampa Bay in 2000. During the prime days of his career, he was famous for his benches-clearing brawl between Tampa Bay and Boston Red Sox after he was hit on the left wrist during an at-bat by starting pitcher Pedro Martinez.

Williams’s best plays were at the Yankee’s 1996 season where he triggered a long fly ball off the bat of then-Seattle Mariners. His streak didn’t end there, he doubled it in Darren Bragg at first base. Before being traded to Milwaukee, Williams spend five seasons with the Yankees. He came back in 2001 and played 2 more seasons for the Yankees as pinstripes. Even though he was traded, Williams was still awarded a World Series ring with the Yankees as he was a member of the team for more than half a season that year.
