Santonio Beard Death – Obituary, Santonio Beard  Has Died

Former Alabama Running Back Santonio Beard has suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. On the 5th of February, 2022, we got informed that, Santonio Beard who played at Alabama from 2000 to year 2002, and recruited by Mike Dubose who saw the field during his sophomore and junior seasons under Dennis Franchione, recording a combined 1,526 total yards and 16 touchdowns over that span, had bid family and friends farewell.

The Former Alabama running back a Nashville, Tenn., native was 41 at the time of his sudden death. Circumstances surrounding his sudden demise is unknown at this time of his passing away. The deceased, Beard’s best season was in 2002 when he ran for 811 yards and 12 touchdowns on 165 carries and also added another 75 yards on five receptions.

In the deceased’s three seasons at Alabama, Crimson Tide went 20-10, which included a 10-3 record in the 2002 season, and 6-2 mark in conference play. unfortunately for them Alabama was unable to participate in the SEC Championship Game in the same year as he had been sanctioned earlier on by NCAA sanctions.

Immediately Franchione departed in December 2002, Deceased Beard decided to let go of his senior season and go after a professional career. Then later he penned another deal with the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League and later spent a short stint in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos.

The deceased will be greatly missed by all who knew him, may his loving and gentle soul rest peacefully.
