The deputy who shot and killed a man on Interstate 205 the previous week has been identified by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, the 31st of January, 2022, as David Fooladjoush. Fooladjoush reportedly shot and murdered 32-year-old Wesley Chance, on Tuesday, the 26th of January, 2022.

Deputy David Fooladjoush shot and killed 32-year-old Wesley Chance Wednesday night, Jan. 26 after Chance led deputies on a chase through unincorporated Clackamas County and into Portland. At exactly 10 p.m. deputies were invited to the 18000 block of Southeast Addie Street to investigate an unwanted person.

Chance was identified as the suspect, as police confirmed knowing Chance for possessing firearms and body armor. Chance was chased by deputies who found his green Subaru Outback leaving the area, they tried to stop him but he sped off, the police engaged him in a hot pursuit and as a result of the chase, he crashed and rolled his car on I-205 near the Southeast Market Street overpass.

Further reports made it known that ”Law enforcement at the scene reported Chance jumped out of the wrecked car and ran away with a gun in his hand, he jumped the median barrier and began confronting people in cars driving southbound I-205……….”.

The deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure as the Portland police are still investigating the shooting because it happened in the city. We deeply commiserate with the family and friends of the deceased, we pray that God grants him the fortitude to bear the sad and great loss.
