The Baycrest Foundation an organization which supports Baycrest programs and services that promote excellence in care, research, education and innovation in brain health and aging have made the sudden and unexpected passing away of Marvin Gord, a 99 year old Canadian Veteran.

Born in Toronto on Dec. 31, 1920, the great WWII veteran Marvin Gord z”l, was known by many as he was so generous in his support and dealings with Baycrest. He was said to have created his Million when decided to walk over 1 million steps in support of Safeguarding the Seniors campaign.

Below is the tribute of the Baycrest Foundation ”We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of WWII veteran Marvin Gord z”l, a generous supporter of Baycrest. The tribute further made it known that ”Marvin’s Million was created when he chose to walk over 1 million steps in support of the Safeguarding Our Seniors campaign. He was a great man and will be greatly missed.

It is also worthy of mentioning that at 99 years, Marvin has already lived an extraordinarily accomplished life and has successfully pursued multiple careers. Part of his achievements included his service as Second World War RCAF and RAF veteran, and radar specialist who aided pilots navigate the dangerous skies above Germany, England and Italy during the war.

Baycrest played an important role in Marvin’s life and will also miss his many impacts as he was one of the few whose impact was felt by the Foundation. We extend sincere and heartfelt condolences to his beloved family at this time of his sudden demise.
