Amon J. Trapuzzano Obituary

Amon J. Trapuzzano Death – Obituary: Amon J. Trapuzzano, 88, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

He was born March 27, 1933, in Washington, the son of the late Annibale and Maria Falvo Trapuzzano. Mr. Trapuzzano was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School.

He then enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean War. During his service in the Army, Mr. Trapuzzano received the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.

After being honorably discharged from military service, Mr. Trapuzzano went on to earn an Associate Degree in Drafting from Morris Harvey College. He then began a career as a pipe draftsman working at Columbia Gas and Union Carbide.

Mr. Trapuzzano was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, and attended mass regularly.

He was a big college basketball and football fan, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his two sons. Mr. Trapuzzano will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Surviving are his former wife, Frances Trapuzzano of Morgantown, West Virginia; two sons, Anthony “Tony” Trapuzzano of Washington, and Timothy Trapuzzano of Washington; a granddaughter, Nicole (Dustin) Robinson of Washington; and two great-grandsons, Logan and Hayden Robinson; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Trapuzzano was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore and Modesto Trapuzzano; a sister, Carmella Davis; and a daughter-in-law, Deborah A. Maleski Trapuzzano.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor / Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.

A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. George Chortos as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
