A woman and a five-year-old boy were found stabbed to death in north London

A Russian military cargo plane crashed early on Friday morning in Ryazan, a city west of Moscow, killing four people.

After a woman and a five-year-old boy were found stabbed to death in north London, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

According to Metropolitan Police, the victims are a mother and son who were known to the arrested man.

At 1.37 pm today, officers were called to a home in Brookside South, Barnet. Paramedics and an air ambulance were also called in.

They discovered the woman, 37, and the boy with stab wounds and pronounced them dead at the scene.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested, and the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is investigating.

Chief Superintendent Sara Leach described the scene for first responders as “incredibly challenging.”

“Specialist detectives are investigating what happened, and a man has been arrested,” she said.

“While they are keeping an open mind about what happened, I would like to reassure residents in the surrounding area that there is nothing to indicate that anyone else was involved in this incident at this time.”

“I would like to encourage anyone who witnessed or heard anything unusual earlier today or in recent days to come forward and speak with the police.” Your information could be crucial as the investigation progresses.”

Initially, the Met Police said the attack had killed a woman and a five-year-old girl.

It has since been corrected, stating that the child killed was a boy.
