Linda Hemenway Death – Obituary, Linda Hemenway Has Died

62-year-old Linda S. Hemenway of Columbia, Illinois, has been identified as the victim killed while backing up onto the shoulder of Interstate 255 by a tractor trailer which hit her vehicle on Tuesday, the 25th of January, at night, a police report on Wednesday, the 26th of January, 2022, has it made known to the general public.

The Missouri Highway Patrol hinted that the accident happened at about 7:45 p.m. on eastbound I-255, east of Telegraph Road, while the deceased was trying to navigate the eastbound lanes of the highway, as she cruised her 2002 Jeep Wrangler going from a far right lane to the left shoulder, and suddenly her Jeep was hit by an eastbound tractor trailer. Patrol Cpl. Dallas Thompson reported saying ”I don’t know if there was an issue with the vehicle or if she saw something and was going back” to get it”.

Thompson continued his report stressing that, her left shoulder was next to a concrete median wall and she began backed up at the time her vehicle was in the third lane to the right of the center median, crossing traffic lanes, and the driver of the tractor trailer, a 2019 Volvo VNL did everything possible not to hit the Jeep but unfortunately he struck its left side, which caused Hemenway and her passenger, to be thrown from the Jeep.

Linda Hemenway died at the scene, while her passenger sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South, it was gathered that neither Edwin Hemenway, nor her passenger was having on a seatbelt, and the truck driver, 60 year old man who hailed from Taylorsville, North Carolina, was uninjured, his name was not mentioned.
